That 7860 had me stumped. Hadn't seen any mention of it on the aic7xxx
mailing list, now I know why! ;)

Anyway, there is limited support for the 7890. You have to patch the
kernel source (2.0.35 or 2.1.115) though with a patch from:

ftp://ftp.dialnet.net/pub/linux/aic7xxx/testing

I've seen several people on the development list report success with
the pre7 patch and the 7890. I haven't followed the posts closely
though so you'd be better off asking specifics on the aic7xxx mailing
list. You subscribe to it by sending an email message to
Majordomo@FreeBSD.ORG with the words

subscribe aic7xxx <your email address>

in the message body. Despite the list servers name, it is a Linux
group.
