v1.0pre of the HOWTO-framebuffer is now out on release. You can either

Before I can release v1.0 proper, I require some information - in
particular on selecting fonts, and fbset.
Geert, your fbset-2.0 stuff doesn't compile on glibc2 Intel platforms.
This needs fixing so we can use it to set the framebuffer devices.
I am also thinking about adding a new section for kgicon to the HOWTO as
well.
As before, due to Demon's shitty webcaching, you might need to force a
'reload' of the HOWTO in order for the newer HOWTO to show up.
