Kernel 2.1.xx questions

I am just getting up to speed on the 2.1.xx kernels; I have been out of
touch for about a year, so I
will apologize in advance if I am asking "dumb" questions....

1) Looking at the new config questions in 2.1, it looks like there are
two areas I can contribute (or
at least try to ;-): Plug-and-Play and Demand-Dial PPP. If there
is anything I can check in these
areas, let me know and I'll do my best.

2) I recently acquired an optical-disk jukebox (ancient HP C1710A). I
would like to build a driver
so that I can create a set of /dev/op-disk/xx devices which, when accessed,
cause the appropriate
disk to be loaded into the drive (actually one of two, but first things
first!). I noticed that the device
list contains a SCSI Changer device number, but I did not find a driver. I
am hoping that someone
will point me to a driver that I can use as a starting point, probably just
a driver which allows
commands to be sent to the robot. That should give me enough to start
building the driver I
really want. (Of course, if someone HAS a driver for the jukebox, I'd be
more than willing to give
some good testing!) I can already access the drives; I just can't talk to
the robot to tell it to
move disks around. I'm hoping that this will be as much fun as the Adaptec
2940 (well, I
actually hope I get it right the first time, which will be a lot easier
since the manufacturer won't
be changing the hardware in the middle of driver development ;-).
