2.1.107+frame buffer support

Frame buffer support in 2.1.107 does not seem to work with my video card
either. SVGA frame buffer support results in a freeze at bootup, VGA
results in black on black text. Everything works fine with frame buffer
support disabled except for the fact that when i select 100x37 VGA from
the video selection menu at bootup that also results in a black on black
display, all other modes work fine.
