Unable to find vma for addr 0xc39fff98

This is Linux 2.1.106 on Alpha compiled with egcs.
Linux 2.1.107 compiles with minor tweaking but then hangs on boot.
I will write down the messages and post a separate message.
What does the above message mean and what can I do about it?
And how do I get rid of the "unexpected interrupt" messages?
