Sigh... when is this going to stop coming up. A long time ago, some changes
were made to /proc/net/dev. This broke older "ifconfig"s. Upgrade to
net-tools 1.45, as noted in Documentation/Changes (which you should read
RIGHT NOW). (BTW -- you have 15940 packets, 240 errors. Or is that 15940
bytes, 240 packets -- I can't remember. If you really want to know, cat
/proc/net/dev.)

BTW: I would have sent this to Scott Lampert, but his mail-daemon is
refusing mail from *.dyn.ml.org... which is probably an error. If you are
getting spam from a *.dyn.ml.org domain, you should mail abuse@ml.org (they
are _very_ anti-spam), and block off _that host_. *.dyn.ml.org domains are
given freely to anyone who requests them -- don't let one spammer make you
block mail from so many people.
