Maybe we should start rewriting LINUX in PROLOG just because it might
exist a machine in the universe's future which will be based on Prolog
BYTECODE and on which C will be awfully SLOW.

Calm the heck down. The first pass of any change set Bill or myself
do wish to ensure correctness and nothing more. Then once the bugs
are weeded out we can remove silly nops like this.
