the sound suddenly died. If I stop the playback in realplayer and start
it up again
it's okay again.

I'm currently going straight into a cisco 761 ISDN router.
Strange... As I was typing this realplayer was still playing in the
background and sound
came back after about ten minutes of silence. After checking the logs
again I can see
that this happened just after another series of UDP: bad checksum...
messages.
This seems to go like this:
playing fine -> UDP: bad checksum -> no sound -> new UDP: bad checksum
-> sound again.
Kernel 2.1.106-ac2
AMD K6-200
Kingston PCI adapter
Red Hat 5.1
RealPlayer 5.0 gold?
Anything else I should try?
