The code has been written. Some people want to use it to write Linux
software, for whatever good or bad reasons they may have. Why not?
Unix has traditionally given people more than enough rope to hang
themselves. The DSM opponents ought to just ignore DSM advocates.
If DSM is really so horrible, an "I told you so" will be well supported
by the linux-kernel archives. I've not heard of anyone being forced
to use DSM.

That goes for STREAMS too. Shoot the foot, then grab some rope...
People want to write software in strange ways. Let them.
