Turn APM off if you have APM enabled in the BIOS. If you still get them
be aware NMI is what under DOS normally causes a blank screen and the work
PARITY ERROR: SYSTEM HALTED

Check its seated well and try other slots too - and see if the mother board
vendor can/will tell you what an NMI indicates on that board
