Now this is news to me. I compiled gated myself a while back. Had to make
quite a few little fixes in OSPF, as I recall. Worked fine after that.

Call it paranoid. And, no, likely not the kernel. I'm thinking it'd be
more like syslog that would need modifying.

ipfwadm is your friend. I won't go above 2.1.98 because I don't wanna
switch to ipfwch yet. I'm not about to convert all my entries in a hurry.
