Here both 5.0.18 and 5.0.19 only detect 3 out of four scsi disks.
In fact, 5.0.18 detected all the disks 2 times out of more than twenty tries.

While booted on a rescue ide disk, 5.0.18 accepted to detect the missing disk
with a echo 'scsi-add-single-device 2 0 6 0' > /proc/scsi/scsi.

Everything works fine with 5.0.13 and kernel 2.1.105.

Here is the config :
scsi is not a module.

Three cards, the two first :
Adaptec AHA-2940A Ultra
the 3rd (#2) (an Asus 2940uw):
SCSI Adapter: Adaptec AIC-7880 Ultra SCSI host adapter
Ultra Wide Controller
The disk sdd is a ultra wide. All the others periferals are scsi2.
Terminaison is correct.
cards #1 and #2 shares the same irq.
