WANTED: OKI4w GDI printer driver developers

Hello everybody!

Some time ago I managed to reverse-engine the protocoll of the okidata-4w
printer. Yes this is an GDI printer and it definitively *can be done*,
despite all the rumours about this kind of stuff on the net!

I have already written a compleate parser for the printers transfer
protocoll, which is heavily documented and provides *a lot* of informative
output.

There is even already a skeletton of a corresponding driver under way:

1. The pipe communication with the gs is working.
2. The page parameter setup on the protocol level is implemented too.

What's missing is:

1. (Re-)Encoding of the raster lines.
2. Locking this process in an RT environment
3. An /utillity/kernel driver/enhancement of the existing pp driver/ for
controling the printers mechanical
operation.

But I'm currently just too busy with my work for the money and therefore
not able to continue the development of it for at least 3 months.

Therefore I'm asking kindly if there may be anybody out there who would
take my stuff up and finish it? Or alternatively: if someone sponsored my
work on it I would drop down some other (not that intringuing) contracts I
have ahead and continue on my own with it. The method's I used to crack
this printer's communication protocoll can *surely* be used in the case of
other GDI printers too. At least I suspect that the okipage4w PLUS is
using exactly the same protocol as the one without the PLUS.

In case you are interrested please contact me through email at one of the
following addresses:

dalecki@cs.net.pl
or
dalecki@dino-online.de

and I will send You happily a tar-ball with the current state of it.

Many thank's for anybody's interrest in advance!

Marcin
