Whatever happens, please don't remove it. Many of us get a lot of use
out of this network profiler, and it is a real pain in the ass for the
primary networking maintainers to have to keep this seperate diff
around just to do some profiling.

I think just fixing up the piece of code in question, or making the
failure case print a message and not panic, and also commenting out
the CONFIG option for it, should be a good solution.
