2.0.34 Kernel panics / Problems

Hey folks,

I just upgraded from 2.0.33 to 2.0.34, during and after the installation
I had some problems.

I obtained the .34 source from ftp.kernel.org.

My system CPU is a K6-200mmx with 64mb of RAM, IDE (WD), Stealth Video
and old SB.

Someone suggested this could be a K6-related bug, but I disagree
since 2.0.33 has been working great for me. Then again, I don't
follow the kernel development as close as I would want to.

I'm new to this list, so I am not aware if this issue has been
discussed. Thanks in advance.

During:

I often use a backed up copy of my config, so I basically just do
'make mrproper' 'make menuconfig' (for autoconf.h) 'make dep' 'make clean'
and finally 'make zlilo' and 'make modules ; make modules_install'.
Normally, this is an automatic process--without errors.

- 'make menuconfig' showed no options for installing ISO9660/MSDOS/VFAT
from the 'Filesystems' section (2.0.33 had these).
I couldn't find anything different in the README/Documentation.
- Attempting to install the packages manually resulted in lots of
compiling errors and signal 11's.

After:

Right after bootup, I would get the a kernel panic but
the system would still function.
