smbfs changes date when reding files

I have a problem with smbfs when I access files on an NT machine.
When I read the files their date is changed to something like
random date.
if I do this with C source files the compiler under NT gets real angry.

what can I do against this ?

files created are always two hours old, the difference between Greenwich
and here, but I can live with that.
