Fix pppd to work with 2.1.100 w/o compiling :)

I had the same problem with 2.1.100 that several other people
reported...'connect' got to
"May 3 20:11:09 bredelin pppd[243]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/ttyS1"
and then stopped. (I have Debian 2.0, which is glibc-based).
My simple fix was to fire up emacs (emacs 20.2) and load pppd. Then I
did a search for 2.1.16 and changed to only occurrence to 2.1.00, and it
now works fine since I never plan on running 2.1.16 or below :)
(Of course, I saved a backup copy of pppd! :)
