Hmm. Can we track this down further? Christian, you seem to have
identified the exact line at which your machine is rebooting --- can you
compare the disassembled object code of that function with binutils-2.8
and binutils-2.9? It would be nice to know how binutils-2.9 is breaking
this, so we can fix it.

Also -- which 2.9 are you using? 2.9.1 or 2.9.1.0.x? (two separate trees,
I believe). 'ld --version' should tell you.
