Vanilla 2.0.x kernels don't work on Sparc, merging in the sparc
support final bits didn't happen in time, if you look you'll see that
redhat uses a seperate kernel source tree in their distributions which
does have the sparc support in it, which is roughly based upon source
trees found under:

vger.rutgers.edu:/pub/linux/Sparc/kernel/v2.0
