Have posted this to linux-net and gotten no help or indication I am doing
something wrong I am am guessing it may be a kernel bug.

I have tried ip aliasing on two different boxes one 2.0.33 and the other
2.0.34pre10. Both boxs have fddi cards and no other network cards. In both
case everything went fine when doing the:
ifconfig fddi0:0 172.22.1.15
route -add host 172.22.1.15 dev fddi0:0

I can ping 172.22.1.15 from the machine in question 172.22.1.3
but can ping it from any other machine.
Does this sounds like a kernel bug?
Any thing else to try?
thanks
paonia
