That's what I get on all 2.1.9* kernels when compiling pgcc/egcs whith
-O6 [-frisc]. Switching to -O2 eliminate any problems.

PS. All the 2.1.9*, kernels, including 2.1.99 work flawlessly for me
in the UP configuration with enough SIMMs on board ;) Can wish to
all developers to have some time to sleep. By the way, the spring
is in the town ...
