Today i installed my asus tx97-e and my intel 233 mhz mmx cpu and i got =
a really *BAD* problem with linux...
by the way i have run linux with an asustek p55t2p4 and an intel pentium =
120 mhz till now without any problem.
The problem is that linux says something like unrecognized pci hardware =
(referred to my mainboard bridge and main hardware) and then crashes =
(locks up completely) if i try to use or format my linux partition.
What i have done is: boot from the IDE bootdisk, then from the COLOR =
rootdisk on my slackware 3.4 CD. Then i ran SETUP. And finally format my =
destination (/dev/hdb2) and THERE comes immediately the lockup...in =
various forms but always a lockup.
Can you tell my why ???
By the way, my same system has no problems under windows 98 even with an =
overclocked cpu.
And now my system specifications:
Asustek TX-97E (bios version 108, the latest)
64 MB RAM
2.2 GB HD
1.2 GB HD
1.2 GB HD
CDROM 6x
CDROM 2x (on tertiary ide)
STB Vision (Virge chipset)
Creative Sound Blaster 16
The problems started when i installed the new motherboard and cpu.
No problems with the same configuration and an ASUSTEK P55T2P4 and a =
pentium 120mhz cpu
Please let me know FAST! many people could be in my very same situation.
