Sorry for my 'me too' posting, but the same problem here. Booting stops
after:
Floppy drive(s): fd0 is 1.44M
FDC 0 is a post-1991 82077

The next line(s) would be (bootmessages from 2.1.96, SMP-Kernel):
(scsi0) <Adaptec AHA-294X Ultra SCSI host adapter> found at PCI 18/0
(scsi0) Narrow Channel, SCSI ID=7, 16/255 SCBs [.....]
