This is incorrect.
Rich Grossweiler holds the patent for bit values 1 and 0. His webpage is @
http://reality.sgi.com/employees/rcg/. he is charging a bit ($0.125 (USD))
for a bit.
On a similar note, Matt Conway has patented the algorithm for changing a 1
to a 0. His webpage is @ http://www.cs.virginia.edu/~mjc4y/. Matt has, for
a limited time only, agreed to a license fee of $1 (USD) per bitflip.
A. Chris Long patented the copying of a 0 or 1 from one place to another.
His page is @ http://infopad.EECS.Berkeley.EDU/~allanl/. He offers $1 (USD)
per bit that is copied.
