problems with cdda and ide cdrom

Hello,

I have an ide-atapi cdrom drive. I am trying to use cdda2wav to dump
audio tracks from a cd to wav files. But I get the following error:

hdd: hdd: packet command error: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hdd: packet command error: error=0xb0
ATAPI device hdd:
Error: Aborted command -- (Sense key=0x0b)
Loss of streaming -- (asc=0xbf, ascq=0x00)
The failed "Read CD" packet command was:
"be 04 00 00 00 53 00 00 08 f8 00 00 "

What bugs me is that I still get parts of the track: I use a very
paranoid version of cdda2wav that handles partly such errors and can build
up to about 10 seconds of music before it decides there are too many
errors.

I had this behaviour with 2.0.32, 2.1.91 and 2.1.92pre2. Is my drive too
stupid, or is there something bad in the ide-cd driver ?
