this is a comparison of a scsi 4mm dat backup against the
root filesystem mounted on fast/wide fujitsu.
some few minutes into the comparison, disk thrash begins.
3 logins were active. top running under root shows the message
'segmentation fault leeping".
virtual consoles were unresponsive although tty0 did accept ^c
and cause 'tar' to cancel with subsequent 4mm dat tape rewind.
reset button was necessary for boot.
fsck on subsequent boot detected 'entry "file" points to deleted inode".
no entries in log after message showing activation of 4mm dat scsi.
