Ok another way to kill the sbpcd driver in 2.1.x is to stick a CD and play
it about a second later (while the drive is busy)

You get

sbpcd-0 [07]: CD contains no data tracks.
cdrom: tray is open...
sbpcd-0 [08]: DiskInfo: ReadTocDescr returns -4
cdrom: bummer. tried to close tray but failed.
cdrom: failed to open the device.
cdrom: door unlocked.
sbpcd-0 [09]: CD contains no data tracks.
cdrom: tray is open...
sbpcd-0 [10]: DiskInfo: ReadCapacity #1 returns -602
sbpcd-0 [11]: DiskInfo: ReadCapacity #2 returns -602
sbpcd-0 [12]: DiskInfo: ReadTocDescr returns -602
cdrom: bummer. tried to close tray but failed.
cdrom: failed to open the device.
cdrom: door unlocked.

and will need to reboot to get the drive back

Also not present in 2.0.x
