Yes, but then you need to configure profiling in the kernel and I guess
you measure on a specific process then and besides counts also measure
time.
Most unixes already count total system calls and a few specics
(read, write, fork, exec ...). It seems more easy to just increment an
indexed array than checking what system call is made or include
counters in the specific system call itself.
