Mar 25 20:00:39 moving kernel: Ugh at c0111ff1
Simple to reproduce: cat /dev/nvram
I have it compiled as a module, there is a steady amount of drive usage at
the time.
The Modprobe/insmod funnies. (modutils-2.1.85)
----------------------------
Is insmod supposed to ignore modules.conf? (Noticed when modprobe failed to
load plip for my non-existant 2nd parallel port but insmod happily loaded
it.)
Parallel port IRQ (still)
-------------------------
2.1.90 also doesn't detect the IRQ on my parallel port either. Model:
parport0: PC-style at 0x378, irq 7 [SPP,ECPEPP,ECPPS2]
Otherwise I've been running SMP 2.1.90 for 20 hours now under a constant
beating. (It's on the 31st kernel compile, while ping flooding localhost,
bonnie is still running in a loop, lynx been dumping localhost constantly,
ls -lR, etc etc etc)
IDE
--- PIIX3: not 100% native mode: will probe irqs later What _is_ native mode anyway? None of the kernel outputs I have seen posted are missing this message. The kernel also failed to probe the IRQ for my IDE CD-ROM when it was the only drive (and a slave) on the secondary IDE. It didn't work there, I knew it shouldn't be set that way, and I didn't want it there anyway so I changed it to master and it seems to work ok.
PPP
--- I always get: ioctl(TIOCSETD): Invalid argument(22) and _then_ the PPP module loads under Kmod. (pppd 2.3.2)-George Greer
