pppd problems with 2.1.90

hello. when i dial out (using /dev/ttyS3 instead of /dev/cua3), the modem
connects, says Login Succesful, gives me the remote/local ip addresses, then
hangs up. i have copies of debug/messages/options, if you need a copy.
