Process suck in D state?

Since upgrading to 2.1.89, I've noticed a few heavy disk read/write processes
(specifically the UO backup process) get stuck in the D state forever. This
didn't occur with 2.1.88, so I'm going to revert back to it for now.

The processes were running on a dual PII-300 machine with a Adaptec AIC-7880
SCSI adapter.

If anyone needs more info on this for debugging purposes, or knows anything
about it, just let me know.
