Thread+network crashes in 2.0/2.1

Using your pre-89-3 kernel, we got the following kernel crash and
a hard-lock of the machine.

It didn't take long to crash once we brought the load up.



After many random bursts of: "VM: Found a writable swap-cached page!"

The following appeared on the console:
