: I could ping the other end of the link, I could ping the
: router on the remote lan, I could ping the dns server.
: I could not get anything from nslookup, nor could I telnet
: to anything on the same network as the dns server.
: tcpdump did not report a single packet, even while pings
: were suceeding.
One guess to make mistery less misterious :-)
tcpdump should ALWAYS be used with "-n" option,
otherwise not working or slowly working dns service
makes it useless.
