Can Kernel Compression Code make Sense?

I followed the whole swap compression thread. Maybe my thought
is just nonsens but anyway, here it is:

IMHO, if we are talking performance, the best usage of mem compression
would be compressing file cache memory rather than swap.

This strategy seems to me to reduce disk activity much more on an
average system.

Furhter, in general the compression ratio of user data should be
better compared to process storage.
