Ok, 2.1.87 SoundBlaster bug (and shm_close oops?) with BOTH egcs and gcc

OK, I recompiled 2.1.87 with gcc 2.7.2.3, and I still get blips instead
of streams of sound. I don't have time to check for oopses right
now...perhas somebody else could play a little quake and try to get one?
BTW, I think that the shm_close oops that I mentioned in my previous
post was being called from xlib...
