I haven't run the memleak-patch on it but I think I should... just for
comparison this is the first time a 2.0 kernel (since 2.0.18) has lasted
>12 days without crashing on this very ragged 486.... the PPP-leak seems
to be the only one.
Workaround: Reset PPP connection every couple of days.
2.1.79-ish:
IDE cdrom *sigh*. Tends to go to sleep.
Under a mount, no problem.... just a slight delay if it's waking up.
With a CD-player I get scads of "device not ready"-type errors.
These messages were one-liners in 2.1.65 - which wasn't so bad. In 2.1.79
they take 5 lines each... and ~4-10 tend to scroll by, messing up whatever
I have on the display (and filling my logfiles).
This one is not serious - just irritating. Are these fixed? :)
G'day, eh? :)
