2.1.81 & patches is OK

After patching up the kernel with various patches floating around on the
list, (for floppy & UP mainly), I have managed to boot my RedHat 5.0
system with glibc 2.06 and use all the features I asked for without
problems! :)

However, having said that, I have had messages like these in syslog:

Jan 25 13:31:29 bucket nfsd[377]: setsockopt failed: Invalid argument

(I probably need a new nfsd.. any pointers where I can get one?)

Jan 25 14:23:32 bucket modprobe: can't locate module ph^??^TF^F@4i^??@^B

(that looks like to me a bug in modutils 2.1.71, which I have tried
recompiling but same deal. I do not know what is causing it.)

Jan 25 15:23:38 bucket kernel: klogd 1.3-3, log source = /proc/kmsg started.
Jan 25 15:23:38 bucket kernel: Loaded 4154 symbols from /boot/System.map.
Jan 25 15:23:38 bucket kernel: Symbols match kernel version 2.1.81.
Jan 25 15:23:38 bucket kernel: Error seeking in /dev/kmem
Jan 25 15:23:38 bucket kernel: Error adding kernel module table entry.

Is there a new klogd or something? I wouldn't have a clue where to obtain
it, but I've been getting error seeking in /dev/kmem for a while now.

Wow, after all that.. Everything is fine and dandy! :P Oh, and
incidentally I have been using pgcc 1.01 and compiled kernel with -O6 and
-mpentium, everthing works like it should. Does anyone know how I can
build a binary distribution of pgcc (for glibc2) so other people don't
have to compile it if they don't want to?

Regards,

Dave.
