At the suggestion of Michael Chastain and with his help, I've made a patch
to fix a problem he found with several Config.in files. The description
of the problem and how to fix it is in
ftp://ftp.shout.net/pub/users/mec/patch/scsi-config.2178; the patch itself
is at http://jpj.net/~trevor/linux/quadstate-2.1.81.diff. With this
patch, options are presented differently--more logically, IMO--while
configuring the kernel, most notably for amateur radio and ISDN. As an
incidental result, the xconfig bug should go away.
