I've seen the same sort of junk several systems...the news server was a
PITA to fix since each time innd encountered one of these, it died.

You can only remove them, AFAIK, with debugfs...or of course mke2fs would
work too :)

Later versions of e2fsck (like 1.10) seem to leave such files behind more
often than older versions did.
