The latest (well, slightly old and in need of integrating) loop device
patches allow for "generic block transforms" as someone else mentioned.
The patch comes in two parts; one with just XOR/stenagraphy modules (and
the loop device driver update), and the other adds support for CAST-128
transforms, etc.
