You needn't wait. Support for subdirectories will just be a matter of
changing devfs_register("sd_blah",...) to devfs_register("sd/blah",...)
when the time comes -- just a trivial change to a string constant. So you
way as well start working of devfs now. Already taken/done are: misc
character devices, scsi and ide subsystems, all tty devices (/dev/console,
/dev/ttyS0, /dev/pty, etc), and character memory devices (/dev/zero,
/dev/full, /dev/mem, etc). You may wish to attack printers (simple place
to start, I think), sound, cdrom or floppy support. Coordinate with
Richard before you start.
