Stability of Linux with unreliable BogoMIPS

Okay, some of you will laugh at this, but I tried installing RedHat Linux
5.0 on top of Virtual PC. Well, it works, sort of... But that's another
story entirely... For those of you that have not heard of Virtual PC,
it's a PC hardware emulator for the Macintosh, letting you run just about
any OS on the Mac. For example, Windows 95/3.1/NT, DOS, OpenStep, OS/2,
Linux, etc.

To make a long story short, depending on how busy the Mac is while Linux
is booting, the BogoMIPS measurement can range from 5 - 109 (PowerPC 604e
@ 350MHz).

Will this adversely affect the kernel?
