Linus' track record of code/feature/whatever freezes seems to be around
two or three per development version.

Since this is the first, I tend not to believe it. (Just look at the HFS
file system support that suddenly appeared in 2.1.78. Incidentally, does
anybody have code to support Mac disk partitions? ;-)
