I've done this as well, but the problem I see happening, is when
rc.modules is run, or when depmod.a is run, modules.dep is re-written, and the
changes made are gone. I know it would be easy to just comment out depmod, but
that would be defeating the purpose of module versions, no? So.. back to the
beginning.. is there a way for what he's asking to be done?
