Linux Swap question: multiple swap partitions

Is it benefical in Linux to have multiple swap partitions? Some Unix
OS's can balance swappage to multiple spindles based on which one is
less busy. Probably not very important (especially on my server which
is 98% idle most of the time) but I was just curious.
