Also: I've noticed that both msdos and vfat leave the directory
entries to which the filesystem is mounted showing odd dates and
times. Was this the case previously? bzw, I use /ddrive to mount my
dos d: drive. Before I mount, the directory entry is

drwxrwxrwx 2 mharnois mharnois 1024 May 16 10:17 ddrive

and after I mount it is

drwxrwxr-x 9 mharnois mharnois 16384 Dec 31 1969 ddrive
