Dave,

There is a known problem with the new memory detection code for x86 and
loadlin. I'm not sure if that's what you're seeing. I just sent
email to loadlin author Hans Lermen to see if we can find the problem.

FYI, the memory detection code in 2.1.44 is different than in
2.0.30-pre2, so if one works and the other doesn't that a useful data
point.
