AMD K6-200 on an ASUS P/I-P55CT2P4 - 512k cache (beta BIOS 2.04-7)
32MB EDO 60ns mem.
/dev/hda = IBM DeskStar 1.6GB EIDE (a cruiser!)
/dev/hdb = Maxtor 7120 AT (from a junk pile, only works as slave)
/dev/hdc = Shitgrate ST5660A (pardon my french, but I don't like )
(Seagate IDE drives much at all )

Interesting note about this. My main Linux partition (hda2) has
4KB block sizes (can't remember why I did it that way.. years ago).
It's a bastardized severely hacked Slackware of old.
The new redhat 4.2 partition (which I made 1KB block sizes for ext2)
blows the pants off my old 4KB partition.. speed-wise. And believe me,
this is an *old* drive compared to a super-tweaked Mode 4 DMA monster.
I'm thinking the 4K to 1K conversion in the kernel is adding a bit
of overhead to it, or something. Not sure what is up with that. Turning off
DMA on the new drive just makes it slower.. so I can't blame that on it.
If I remove /dev/hdb, no difference.. shouldn't, since the HX chipset is tunable
per drive.
