Some time ago, I asked here what should be done to make pc sounddriver
go into kernel. Somebody suggested that porting it to rtc would be
needed. Well, it is impossible as rtc can give 8kHz at most, and
>16kHz is required (to produce something usable).
2nd solution would be to move current timer interrupt to rtc and use
irq0 for pcspeaker only, but I doubt it is a good idea.
So: Same question again: What has to be done to make pc sounddriver go
into kernel?
