Re: naive question: kernel CVS repository

--------

For those people that have mentioned a read only CVS repository, I have
actually got a 2.0.x kernel repository created, and I have a script that
will automagically create a 2.1.x kernel repository. However, what I'm
wondering about now is the access method. Read only access for CVS is easy
to set up, but doing it securely is another matter altogether. If someone
out there with experience in getting this to work securely would email me, I
would appreciate it. Currently, I'm not allowing rlogin/rsh type access,
only ssh. This is for security reasons. The second problem is the issue of
dealing with allowing incoming ssh connections to be valid without opening
up a telnet possibility on the same account (I haven't really gotten in and
worked on this one, but I suspect that putting a shell into /etc/passwd for
the CVS account that won't allow telnets will also mean that it won't allow
proper ssh operation). Again, if someone is familiar with these setups,
please drop me an email. I haven't had time amongst other things to do the
research on this that I should have, I just managed to find the time to
write the script that imports and sets up the CVS repository.
